Summary
The primary goal of the Secretariat of the European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance (ECAVA) is to ensure the effective operation and sustainability of the Alliance as a key stakeholder platform. The Secretariat will play a central role in developing and promoting the ECAVA’s strategic roadmap, organizing major events such as the annual General Assembly and Forum, and facilitating meetings of working groups and the Steering Committee in close collaboration with the European Commission. By supporting the Alliance’s communication efforts, including website management and content creation, the Secretariat aims to reinforce the competitiveness and innovation leadership of the European automotive sector and accelerate its digital transformation. The Secretariat will also provide expertise, including legal guidance on competition rules, and support the development and updating of the Alliance’s yearly roadmap.
Eligibility for participation in the ECAVA includes a broad spectrum of stakeholders from the automotive sector. This encompasses original equipment manufacturers, automotive suppliers, technology and tool providers, start-ups, academia, research and technology organizations, and relevant industrial associations. The Secretariat will work closely with these members and the European Commission to ensure inclusive and effective collaboration.
The impact of the Secretariat’s work is expected to be significant in fostering a dynamic ecosystem for connected and autonomous vehicle technologies in Europe. By supporting the organization and administration of the Alliance, disseminating outcomes, and collaborating with related initiatives, the Secretariat will help coordinate and accelerate technological developments and investments, ultimately strengthening Europe’s position in the global automotive industry.
