Summary

The primary goal of this grant is to enhance the European genomic data infrastructure by developing and deploying advanced data tools that support automated curation, quality assurance, compliance checks, and risk/security management. These tools will be aligned with the requirements of the 1+ Million Genomes (1+MG) initiative and the European Health Data Space (EHDS), ensuring interoperability, high data quality, and adherence to legislative and technical standards. The action also aims to establish a citizen portal to facilitate GDPR rights management and citizen engagement, and to provide user-friendly tools, APIs, and interfaces that address the needs of research, healthcare, and public health policy users. The project will support the integration of clinical and genomic data, data minimisation, and secure data access, while ensuring compatibility with existing European digital identity and data infrastructure frameworks.

Eligibility for this grant is oriented towards entities capable of developing, testing, and deploying data tools and services that meet the technical and regulatory requirements of the 1+MG and EHDS frameworks. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in data curation, quality assurance, compliance with GDPR, and the development of user-centric digital solutions for health data infrastructures. Collaboration with stakeholders involved in the 1+MG initiative and alignment with established standards and procedures are essential.

The impact of this grant will be significant in advancing the accessibility, quality, and security of genomic and health data across Europe. By providing robust tools and services, the project will facilitate research, improve clinical care, and inform public health policy, while empowering citizens to manage their data rights. The initiative will foster innovation, support multi-modal data modelling, and ensure the sustainable operation of a pan-European health data infrastructure.
