Summary
The primary goal of the Capacity Building in VET in Latin America grant is to enhance the relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness of vocational education and training (VET) institutions and systems in third countries not associated with the Programme. The initiative seeks to drive sustainable socio-economic development by fostering international cooperation among VET organizations from EU Member States, associated countries, and non-associated third countries. Through multilateral partnerships, the grant aims to strengthen the management, governance, inclusion, quality assurance, and innovation capacities of VET providers. A key objective is to improve engagement between VET institutions and the private sector, enabling the joint development of demand-driven and opportunity-oriented VET interventions that are closely aligned with labour market needs.
Eligibility for this grant is extended to organizations active in the field of VET from EU Member States, third countries associated with the Programme, and third countries not associated with the Programme. These organizations must form multilateral partnerships to participate in capacity building projects. The focus is on collaboration between public and private stakeholders to ensure that VET interventions are responsive to socio-economic opportunities and aligned with local, regional, and national development strategies.
The anticipated impact of the grant includes improved quality and responsiveness of VET systems in targeted countries, reinforced capacities of VET staff and teachers, and stronger links between VET providers and the labour market. These outcomes are expected to contribute to broader policy objectives, such as the Global Gateway investment packages and the development of Talent partnerships, ultimately supporting the attraction of skills and talent to the EU and fostering sustainable development in partner regions.
