Summary

The Elevate: European League of Advanced Digital Skills Academies grant aims to address the European Commission’s Digital Decade Policy Programme target of reaching 20 million ICT professionals in Europe by 2030, with a focus on increasing women’s participation in the field. The initiative seeks to federate and coordinate existing and new sectoral digital skills academies, such as the Cybersecurity Skills Academy and the EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy, as well as other EU-funded projects. Its primary goals include developing and piloting a seal of quality or accreditation of excellence for training modules, fostering capacity building through cross-sectoral mentoring, and enhancing collaboration via the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform. The League will also conduct market analyses and impact assessments to identify gaps in advanced digital skills education and training, and promote best practices and community building among stakeholders.

Eligibility for participation centers on sectoral academies, initiatives, and projects focused on advanced digital skills, particularly those already funded by the EU or aligned with the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform. Collaboration with Member States, industry representatives, and education and training providers is encouraged to maximize the reach and effectiveness of the League’s activities.

The anticipated impact includes a more cohesive and collaborative European ecosystem for advanced digital skills, reduced fragmentation among initiatives, and improved access to high-quality training and learning resources. By establishing a sustainable governance structure and supporting the development of micro-credentials, the League aims to ensure that education and training offerings are better aligned with current and future labor market needs, ultimately strengthening Europe’s digital workforce.
